Liberty Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting a Fire One Class at their fire station every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. Starting on July 6th, 2010.
There will be a CPR class on Saturday July 24th at 8:00 a.m. All those that do not have CPR need to attend. There will also be a CERT class starting next month. The date will be announced when it is official.

Argyle would like to welcome Silas Fisher Cosson to our community, He was born on May 28, 2010 at 2:15 p.m. He weighed 5lb. 2 ounces and 19 inches long. We congratulate his parents Austin and Tiffany Cosson. Austin and Tiffany are both members of Argyle Volunteer Fire Department.
Earlier this month the Farmers Co-Op donated some equipment to the fire department. The Co-Op closed down last year. the building was setting empty for months until Argyle was given permission to enter the building and get what they were allowed to take. Included in this were about 20 metal shelves that will be dispersed between all three stations, peg board for these shelves, 2 fire extinquishers, which will be put on the fire trucks , 1 step ladder that will be used at Station 91 and other miscellaneous items. Although Argyle is holding some of the equipment for them until Farmers say whether or not Argyle can have them or be given back to auction of at a later date.
Freeport Cert is sponsoring the Hurricane Seminar that is coming up on Thursday, May 27th at 7 pm and it is at the Freeport Community Center. Ofelia was not able to get a meteorologist to attend because of the timing she thinks she will be about an hour and a half of your time and help you get better pepared for this more active year.
Cheif Day would like members to know that they will be starting their Tanker Shuttle classes on Tuesday June 1st, 2010
Cheif Jonathon Day and Assistant Cheif Sparky Banks attended an instructors course on EVOC at Pace Fire Deparment in Pace Florida. They took the instructor course in order to be able to give the EVOC course on their own. The class was given bu VFIS instructor Jamie Green and Chief Donnie Watkins of the Pace Fire Department. We would like to tank instructor Greene, and Chief Watkins along with Coggins Insurance Company, John Coggins helped bring the class to Pace and provided lunch on Saturday. VFIS and John Coggins provided a Powerpoint VD and DVD's for the fire department. Other fire departments that were in attendence were South Walton, Dorcas Pace and some military Fire departments. Those that attended will be receiving their certificates in a few weeks.
Argyle would like to thank the Friends of the Family Visitation Center for their donation of a television and 2 VCR/DVD players. The Assistant director of the Family Visitation Center is Anne Ryan. Once again thanks go to the visitation center for their donation.
Argyle has training night every Tuesday throughout the year. This is just an example of what the firefighters go through to learn their trade. Whether it is cleaning the station or training with a real fire.
Argyle has received word that they were rewarded a new grant for equipment to replace old hose ppv fans and nozzles. More information coming soon.

Argyle received new gear. On Tuesday they tried on their new gear to fitting to make sure each and everyone had the appropriate fit.
Pictures of the trip to South Dakota when Chief Day flew out to check on the truck that Argyle had purchased.
On February 27, 2010, all fire destrict personnel are requested to be present at Station#1 for group pictures and for individual pictures so they can be put onto the website. The pictures will be taken at 1:00p.m. Please wear your blue pants and Argyle shirt for these pictures. If more information is needed call the station.
At present Argyle is working on getting a fire tower placed on their property. Click here to see pictures of the tower. Although the tower is not constructed yet it is in the process.

Argyle held a refresher course in CPR, attending these course were Chief Jonathon Day,Tom Brooks,Sparky Banks, Michael Lancaster, Steven and Darlene Hadley, and Brandon Carroll. We would like to thank all those who participated in the CPR refresher course.
On the weekend of january 30-31, 2010. Arglye had EVOC; emergency vehicle operators course. The first day was held in the classroom learning the basics. the second day consisted of vehicle operations and grading. Attending these classes Chief Jonathon Day, Sparky banks, Michael Lancaster, Brandon Carrol and Steven Hadley. Thanks goes to those who attended these EVOC classes for their ahrd work and training.
